ENDIAN Firewall - EFW 2.5.1 Will Not authenticate Users

Hi All

This is my first post so go easy on me.

I have actually spent a lot of time looking through the forums for answers but have not found any.

The setup that we have got is like so.

EFW version 2.5.1 being used as a Proxy and Content Filtering.

The proxy is set as Non Transparent.

EFW is working really well using any browser and the filtering is doing its job, so all is well.

However if we try to access the net using other applications that require web connection a proxy authentication window pops up and asks for credentials and if you enter credentials then it does not seem to authenticate users. I am constanly seing access denied on the logs.

And if you access the same url via a browser it works fine.

We are using group based authentication as well as user based authentication.

I have also enforced via windows GPO the following

Computer configuration ‣ Windows Settings ‣ Security Settings ‣ Local Policies ‣ Security Options
Network Security: LAN MANAGER Authentication Level
“Send LM * NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated”

Can someone please shed any light to what the problem might be please.
I am now loosing the will to live with this problem.
