Apache (httpd) is crashing

Hi everybody,

Getting thousands of messages in System log over a time period of 10 to 15 minutes at random times every day.
In this time periods CPU load goes up significantly and Internet traffic is getting slow.
3.0.5beta1 Community Running with latest updates and Kernel 2.6.32.43-57.e53.i586
Appreciate any help with this.
