virus definitions, spam filters etc

Hello,
I have used linux for firewalling before, (iptables etc) but not a linux box for virus / spam filtering etc, ie as a UTM system.
With the community edition, what happens with virus definition updates. What do i need to do to subscribe to these? Do i have to pay a yearly subscription fee for these to ensure i get the latest definitions each day?
If so what is the process? Any informagtion on how to get the latest virus definitions, spam filters etc or blacklisting updates would be extremely useful.
Thank you

Antivirus is
ClamAV
which is free (including Virusdatabase). Spamfiltering is by
SpamAssassin
which is also free, but you have to train it by using spam- and ham-folders on an eMail-account.
