I have a 2012 Server working as PPTP server>Cisco 3560>Endian 2.5.2

I've tried forwarding TCP 1723 to the server, GRE 0 to the server, and UDP 47 as suggested by other topics.  Nothing seems to work.  Any help is appreciated.

Forward to your 2012 server ip . .  .

TCP Port 1723
Protocol GRE 47
UDP Port 500
[I have at times needed this additional port but not always]

Make sure your Outgoing Firewall allows tcp port 1723 from the server ip

So I tried as suggested but I keep getting an error after it hangs on verifying name and password.  I can connect from inside the firewall with no issues via PPTP so my issue has to be on the firewall.  The screenshots show my settings for port forwarding and then incoming routed traffic.  Again I have the outgoing and vpn firewalls disabled.  I know that I have some overlapping/redundant configs but I was desperately trying everything last night.  I have over 8 hrs in troubleshooting this and feeling dumber by the minute.  I know this shouldn't be this hard.

I had the same problem , turned out to be Vmware ESXI 5.5 wich I used for virtual plattform.

Solution :
Change nic from E1000 to flexible or vmnic3 . Worked for me Smiley

It's a known bug in Esxi 5.5 with E1000 and GRE , google and you will find the KB from Vmware on it.
