Hi All

I origionally posted this in the general section of the forum, but i think the issue is related to the vpn.. have a read at what i put

Hi All..

im having issues trying to access out sharepoint services 3 website from a remote site. i can access other web services on the same server as sharepoint from the remote site.
sharepoint is working fine internally, and i can also access sharepoint from the internet at other locations

the setup i have is as follows. the two lans are linked using openvpn on the endians

lan----------->endain------->router--------> internet <--------router<---------endain<--------remote lan
sharepoint
bksb
crm

the issues only seems to be accessing sharepoint from the remote lan
bksb and crm are working fine...

i suspect it has something to do with the authentication that the vpn is using.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

adam

Hi All

On thing i have figured out is if i connect to our lan (where sharepoint is hosted) from the remote lan using a windows vpn connection, sharepoint works ok, its a little slow...

ive reccomended the users use the windows vpn to get to sharepoint until i find a proper solution for the problem.

Hope someone can help me out with this one.

Thanks

adam

hi all.. managed to sort it.. new it would be something simple.
turns out it wasnt authentication.

found a  of articles on another forum.

the kb article is http://www.securitywithpassion.com.au/index.php/component/option,com_moofaq/Itemid,143/id,3/view,categories/
the section is vpn support and the two article of interest are

How to Authenticate OpenVPN against Active Directory and Intranet behind Endian an OpenVPN

it was the Intranet behind Endian an OpenVPN that gave me inspiration, because it was the simplest..  Grin

all i had to do was add the ip/subnet of each lan... local and remote to the "bypass transparent proxy to" section of the http proxy screen. had to do this on both endians controlling the vpn.

simples.. hope that makes sense and i certainly hope this helps someone
