Title: [VoIP] Asterisk appliance in BLUE network
Post by: icebrian on Thursday 10 September 2009, 02:14:01 am
Hello all,

Main questions:

1. Can I use a VoIP appliance such as Asterisk on the BLUE network?
2. Does the SIP proxy work for all networks (BLUE, GREEN, etc) or is it specifically for the GREEN network?

Now the reason as to why I am asking this:

I am currently running my entire VoIP solution on the BLUE network. Everything most of the time is working just fine, but a few times a week I am completely unable to make any call's or receive call's.

I have contacted my SIP proxy provider and they ure me the problem is not on their side. When this problem occurs they have told me that no log is generated meaning request doen't even reach the proxy.

On the other had, on Asterisk I have confirmed that attempts at making the call are in fact being made, however, no reply is ever received.

What I am thinking is that Endian in some way is blocking these requests, may-be due to IDS or something?

In my logs I constantly get "FORWARD:DROP" originating from my VoIP appliance with as destination my SIP proxy provider, however, these lines are logged even when there is no problem.

Anyone have any ideas on how I could try to identify if the problem is related to Endian or not? Anyone running a VoIP appliance on the BLUE network?

Any help will be greatly apreciated!

Thanks,
