Title: Allow site with Banned Regular Expression
Post by: sdsnyr94 on Friday 03 February 2012, 12:57:39 am
I have a user who is trying to get to the site : (www)ntwonline.com/National-Tire-and-Wheel-(D.I.C.K)-Cepek-Wheels.html, so that he can price a tire for a customer. He can get to everything else on the (www)ntwonline.com website... so I am assuming it is seeing the word "D-I-C-K" and blocking access.

I have tried entering .ntwonline.com in the custom whitelist of the content filter, with no luck, and also tried throwing the whole link into the content filter..... still no luck.

Is there a way that I can get this portion of the site through, without lowering the settings across the board?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT - OK.... I understand about forum security and the need to censor certain things in the forum, but this is ridiculous.  My issue is my web filter blocking the other name for Richard, yet when I try to explain the situation, the forum starts stripping the key words from the post. Very frustrating.

You could activate snort and define a rule for that particular website.

You do not say which version of EFW you are using so I will assume it is 2.5.x

To enter a domain for the contentfilter whitelist or blacklist you must enter the domain without the first . character
e.g. ntwonline.com not .ntwonline.com this is because this portion of the filtering is using the DansGuardian filter not Squid.

If you want to bypass all filtering for this domain you can create a new Access Policy (Proxy > Access Policy > Add Access Policy) set the destination as domain and enter .ntwonline.com (with the . this time as this is Squid !), set to allow access with the Filter Policy of 'none', save as first position.

Hope this helps
