Title: Network Driver for Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5720 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe
Post by: ricardoamr on Saturday 15 March 2014, 01:34:22 am
I'm Installing EFW 2.5 and 3.0 in a HP Proliant ML3110e Gen8 Server.
NICs are not detected, and with lspci I found error "Unknown Device"

Trying other distro, lspci gives me this:

03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5720 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe
03:00.1 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5720 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe
07:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5720 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe
07:00.1 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5720 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe

Maybe I have to install drivers manually, if that is the case could anyone give me instructions?

Any help would be appreciated!!

I don't think the latest Broadcom NICs are supported by the EFW Kernel.

As the Kernel headers are not provided, the driver cannot be compiled either.

I am hoping they will release new drivers with the final community release.

It is possible to upgrade the kernel in this versions?

I saw somewhere that in the 2.4.1 it was possible to do that with some work.
