Title: TLS error in smtp proxy with hostname change
Post by: herbh on Sunday 19 July 2009, 12:27:18 pm
Hi,

I did an install of version 2.2 today.  Fresh install, no backup to restore.  I have used previous versions of endian on 4 different networks for smtp proxy and it works very well.  Today after the install I noticed TLS errors in the smtp proxy logs.  No, I didn't write them down and yes I know I should have...   sorry.  However, basically the smtp service was complaining that it could not find the files or path for TLS keys.   I am no linux expert but I am not a bad troubleshooter and I know a bit about certs.. so I figured out that if I did a new install without changing the host name the error did not occur.  Only when I changed the host name of the endian box to something other than the default name used by the install process did the errors occur.

I should point out that the tls errors did not appear to stop smtp proxy from working, but I did not do extensive testing.

If anyone can tell me what to do to stop this from occurring I would be grateful as I want to change the host name on this new firewall.

Thanks.
