Hi.

I already posted on the list but no replies so far...
On an installation of EFW 2.3, one or two months after deployment POP3 proxy started crashing, thus preventing clients from fetching mail.

This is quite strange because I cannot find informations about service stopping anywhere. I grepped for spamd in /var/log but found only scan reports.

If I disable and re-enable the service, everything returns to normality... For some days. Then stops again.

Where can I dig for more infos?
thanks

Hi,

I got exactly the same problem, 1st on a V2.2 community, then I thought the 2.3 got rid of this problem because it seems to appear less often. But it still occurs ... and this is really annoying, because I only recognize when I'm getting curious why I didn't reveive any emails the day :-/
The other features of the endian seem to be unaffected of the poop3-failure.
A restart of the proxy or the complete endian helps for some time... some days...

any help would be appreciated

thank you

Hey @all,

we have excat the same problem too, somtimes the POP3 proxy runs for days, and sometimes just a few hours.  if we restart the POP3 Proxy it works fine again for a while.

Hope can solve that problem, and i think it must be a buck!

Thanks

EDIT:

We have like 50 Mailboxes, and the Mailserver looks for emails like every 5 Minutes +  a few clients like Outlook, also every 5 Minutes. So to me it “feels” like there is an overflow of something, but I don’t know what.

We also tried to let the POP3 Proxy run without SPAM and then without ANTIVIRUS Feature, but it is still the same, after a while the POP3 proxy  hangs.
