Hello,

I forwarded port 80 from the Red interface to a Win2003 IIS web/DNS server on my LAN (Green) and my site (ex: www.mysite.com) was viewable from the Internet, but I couldn't browse to the site (www.mysite.com) from any pc on the LAN.  IE eventually timed out saying "cannot display the webpage".

As a work-a-round, I then added the web server LAN IP address and FQDN (domain name) to the local Windows hosts file on one of the LAN pc's, rebooted it and then I could access the web site.

I was previously using pfSense and don't recall having to do any special config to make this work... it was able to resolve just fine.

Do I need to configure something else in Endian to allow my LAN pc's to resolve to the internal web server?  I'm using Endian Firewall Community release 2.2.rc1.

Thanks in advance.

Ben

Ok.  What should I enter into the Hostname box?  I entered mysite.com in the Domain name box.

I also need to create host entries for my sub-domains (like sample.mysite.com).  Are those entered the same way?

For the various Hostnames I entered "www", "sample", etc etc and they seem to work now.

Internal access to www.mysite.com works now but I can't seem to access it internally by using http://mysite.com.  Any suggestions?

I tried some things on my installation.:

I added a host like described in this thread.
then wanted to go to hostname.domain.name
no success

when going to hostname
i ended up in my firewall (like supose to be)

seems like efw checks on external dns when you enter a full domain.
