I am running 2.3
I have added a fixed lease and added the host to the network. I can ping it from linux using numeric IP address but not using hostname, This gives the error unknown host
However from a Windows machine I can ping this host with its hostname.
Other hosts can be pinged from Linux servers using hostname.
The only difference with the hostname it has 2 hyphens in its name, colyn-dell-lt. AFAIK this is perfectly legal.

Anyone got an idea please?

TIA
Glyn

It will probably sort itself out as your ARP or DNS cache cycles, but you could add the EFW name to the hosts file on the linux box. If the IP works and the name does not, it is normally local DNS / ARP issue.
