Hi all,

For a long time I've been puzzled as to why my install of Endian continues to show the message stating an advertisement was blocked.

I was using 2.4 but now upgraded to 2.5.1 in hopes this would resolve. It didn't.

In the config file I see that the Dansguardian option to use the transparent GIF image is enabled!

Code:

usecustombannedimage = 1
custombannedimagefile = '/usr/share/dansguardian/transparent1x1.gif'

However looking through the actual Dansguardian source (from their site) they actually have slightly different code.

Code:

# Banned image replacement
# Images that are banned due to domain/url/etc reasons including those
# in the adverts blacklists can be replaced by an image.  This will,
# for example, hide images from advert sites and remove broken image
# icons from banned domains.
# on (default) | off
usecustombannedimage = on
custombannedimagefile = '/usr/share/dansguardian/transparent1x1.gif'

I've tried manually changing Endian's code from 1 to ON but this did not appear to do anything.

Does anyone know how I can get this working? It would really be nice to be able to load sites without seeing the general blocked page notice wherever an advertisement should be.  Huh

I've added an attachment in case I'm not being clear of what I mean.

Hope someone can help resolve!

Thanks so much. Smiley

Its good to achieve actually and i want to have it same. Might be if we remove the message under the setting file of dansguardian this could solve it...but i haven't got a chance to test it. Remember to take backup of file if you are going to do it.

File is under /var/efw/dansguardian

If you are able to test please post back.

Thanks!
